The Nemo Pentalite Tent - One Of The Best Backpack Tents For Camping
The Nemo Pentalite was named this year in backpackers magazine as the Backpackers magazines most versatile tent. Backpackers magazine is probably the most prestigious and most well respected magazine when it comes to these matters so this is a very prestigious honor for the folks over at Nemo tents.
Tents Travel
This Nemo stock is a lightweight large sized tent with a spin on the excellent pyramid shape. Instead of having four sides like a typical pyramid, the Nemo Pentalite uses five walls to originate more interior space and also has a vestibule option which will give you an additional eight square feet of usable storage space.
The designers of the Nemo Pentalite patterned a tent that can be set up as a original pyramid or guyed out to originate nearly vertical walls. The idea behind the shape was that everyone could sit up in their own sleeping space without feeling crunched by the pole or tent wall. It is a well thought out compose that also works very well.
Each wall of the tent has a vent that can be guyed out. By doing this, you fully expose the mesh vent, and pull the tent wall away from the inside of the tent. This makes a big inequity in creating the largest possible usable space inside the tent.
This all goes to show that five sides are better than four. Compared to conventional square pyramid designs, the Nemo Pentalite 4-Person 3-Season Tent offers a near rectangular sleeping area and a roomy additional triangular vestibule area.
There is an optional "wedge" which is a mesh wall that zips into the Nemo Pentalite giving you the extreme security from bugs and the elements which in fact can spoil a good camping outing. One cool feature about the wedge is that it let's the pole pass through the floor so that it doesn't rub or abrade the floor fabric. Nemo calls it the Pole Port.
There is quite a bit of floor area when this tent is used along with the optional wedge, which I think is a must but addition to this tent. Although it adds a limited bit of cost to the Pentalite, it is well worth it in my opinion. With approximately 77 square feet of floor area and an additional 20 square feet of vestibule area, four habitancy and all of their gear can be in fact contained in this shelter.
This is a very light tent, ideal for backpackers looking for the lightest load possible. At 3 pounds 5 ounces without poles, and at 4lbs 4 oz with poles, this is an incredibly light tent.
Overall, I in fact like this tent, especially for backpackers due to it's light weight. If I were strictly looking for a 4 person tent that I didn't have to carry nearby on my pack,or If you are only going to be unpacking this from the trunk of your car for a weekend camping trip, then you have a Nemo Pentalite Tent retell lot of other good choices at a more uncostly cost than this one.
