Packing Away Pop Up Tents is as Easy as Pie

Packing away pop up tents is not supposed to be a very difficult task. Pop up tents were specially made to be easy to set up and collapse. While traditional tents would sometimes take hours to put up, new "high tech" tents would not take much time and effort.

In fact, you don't need a lot of vigor or skill when packing away pop up tents. There are two basic kinds of pop ups: one with the spring in the middle, and one that unfolds like a canopy. The latter is often larger and squarish or rectangular, used to shelter your car from rain, a torrent of insects, and other elements.

The previous is more cozy, customized as it is for personal use. When the spring is pressed down and coiled, this form of tent collapses as a sort of disc. Until the spring is triggered and the full-sized tent "pops up," the disc can be carried colse to quite for real as part of the camping gear. Unlike quarterly canvas tents, this is quite conveyable and not so much of a hassle to fold and put away.

Before you trigger the spring, however, make sure that you've pegged down the edges of the tent, according to the instruction manual. This would be an easier time to peg down the edges of the tent, as you may need to do a mountainous estimate of pulling and stretching when the tent is already up. It would be especially difficult to do this if the wind is strong.

The larger kind of pop up tent, the one that unfolds like a canopy, may take a bit more time to put together, but is still easier to put together than a quarterly tent. It would be a best fit for a house tent, if you are not using it to protect your own vehicle. When packing it away, it takes a bit of work too.

A small word of caution: don't pack wet and dirty tents. Or if you must, make sure you air it out to dry at the soonest opportunity, and then roll it up or collapse it again. Contaminated fabric will breed fungus, which will be difficult to deal with the next time you use your tent. You should also store the tent in a cool, dry place, as wet storage areas may well damage the fabric.

It may seem like a hassle to put away tents in general, but packing away pop up tents is certainly something you don't have to worry about. You're rid of most of the folding and carrying tasks, so you can best enjoy your camping trip!
